As the bell signalling the end of school goes off, you pack up your books, sighing in relief at the end of (Worst subject). Walking down the hall, listening to the rain bash against the windows, you make your way to the gym. You speed up the closer you get get, exited to prove Yoshi wrong and get your mind off of the purple-haired nuisance that goes by the name of Murasakibara. As you enter the gym you see Yoshi and wave... only to have your jaw drop as you see who she is talking to... or rather, who's next to the person she's talking to. Murasakibara Atsushi, back to haunt you. Will I ever get rid of this guy? You think as you make your way to Yoshi, begining to talk about your practice "Yoshi I was practicing my defense yester-"
"I don't see why you would practice, it's completely useless." Murasakibara interrupted you. You bristle at his comment, bringing yourself to your full height, glaring at the purple-haired boy. "You can't say that! you don't know how well I play or how much I've improved!" You almost yell at him. "I don't need to know, if you need to practice, then you shouldn't play. Sport is all about natural talent."
"Whatever!" You shout, turning towards Yoshi with a face, beet red with anger. "Let's start shall we?"
"O-Of course!" Yoshi replies, a bit off-put by the argument. Practice soon commenced.
Half-way through your practice, while the ball was at the other end of the inside court, you look towards the basketball game. Just in time to see Murasakibara tower over a smaller player and tell them that they're wasting their time, that if they practice it won't help. "You should just quit." As you hear those cold, sadistic words you forget about your own practice and stalk across the courts. Right through the practice, the people only standing by while their 'ace' crushes a persons dreams. "Oi! droopy-eyes! Shut it!" You shout at him, while you barge past his 'team' members. Standing in-between the player and Murasakibara, you begin to talk to the other player. "Don't listen to him, he just takes pride out of what he can do to someone's spirit. I bet he can't play soccer for anything less than a piece of already chewed gum. I know, with time you can improve, and if you love the sport, go for it."
"He's a terrible player, practice will improve nothing," Mura stated, making the boy's face fall once again, " and I could beat you in sport, idiot."
"You are a sadist, you know that?" you say, pulling your hair out of your face, "This guy is going to be an awesome basketball player, no thanks to you. If you think you're so good at sport, verse me in soccer, first to score wins." Standing and making eye contact with Murasakibara, you challenge him, smirking about how easy he is to coax into anything.
"I will," he replies, standing to his full height and walking to the make-shift soccer court. By now, everybody in the gym is staring at the short girl with (h/c) hair, glaring defiantly at the back of 'the purple monster's' head. You stand and walk over to the court, Yoashi is waiting for you, glaring slightly at you for the interruption of the game. ""You'll have to place the ball Coach." You say, walking past without a second glance. "Uuh, sure." She says walking over to the center of the field. "Each of oyu will start on the quarter line, when I blow my whistle you run for the ball." Putting her whistle to her lips and placing the ball on the ground you see Murasakibara smirk at you. 'His legs may be longer but that won't stop me from stealing it from him, this is a ground sport, my domain tallie.'
In the split second that the whistle is blown you both sprint from your stand-still positions after the ball. Naturally Murasakibara gets there first but what was not expected by any basketball player was your steal. You flicked your foot in between his and stole the ball, making a quick run up to your goal you sense a presence behind you. 'Tall legs carry him far, but I KNOW soccer, I can do this, at the very least for that player...' you think, looking at his shadow to try and gauge the distance... 'Right behind me...' You smile devilishly, 'Oh I know what to do...' You stop the ball and sidestep out of his way, he powers past before he realises what had happened. you take the ball again and get into motion, as you expected he realised turned and, as he was closer to the goal than you, decided to be goalie. what he never bothered to realise was the you WERE a goalie, you knew what kicks are hard to catch and at which angle. You are to the right of the net and see an opening to his left, you make to kick to his left, as you thought he realised his error and quickly covers it, meanwhile you kick the ball as hard as you can... to his not quite so defended... right. You smile as the ball hits the back of the net, cheers from your team rise while Mura is shocked to say the least. You walk up to the shocked Murasakibara and hold out your hand... out and up... "That was great Murasakibara, nice game, but I guess you were wrong about practicing being useless, if I had never practiced I would have never known how to defeat you."
"Well in basketball I am superior, I could get a basket before you could, you can even start with the ball." He states with a smirk upon his face.
"You. Are. On." You reply, your pride getting the better of you and glaring at him. You strut over to the basketball court, not letting the dread of humiliation get to you. 'If there is such a thing as Karma then I will win.' Grabbing a size 6 basketball you begin to bounce, ignoring Murasakibara's smirk. Him, going slightly easier on you than he would on other people, lets you get to the hoop. Your posture is slightly slouched with your knees bent, his was the same... but with more of a professional air to him. He is towering over you, you being able to fit under his legs at this point in time... 'That it! I'll run between his legs and throw it!' As you feint to the left, making him widen his legs just enough you duck through, dribbling the ball in front of you, switching hands as you go, almost losing the ball as you stumble. While Murasakibara is distracted, wondering where you went, you pull your arms out and throw the ball. It bounces of the back of the ring as you gasp in disappointment it bounces again, on the other side of the hoop this time. As the motion stops the ball falls through the hoop and you scored.
Murasakibara stands there in shock, not quite comprehending that he lost while you do the same thing. The next thing you know your team and the basketball team are cheering. You defeated one of their aces, by luck admittedly, but you did it... You smile and pump your slightly sore wrist. Basking in the glory of winning when you feel a tug on your wrist. Murasakibara doesn't look happy as he tugs you off of the basketball court and out of the gym... 'Whoops.' You think sheepishly as he pulls you behind the building and almost pins you against the wall as he growls out "How the heck did YOU win?"
